As the school year continues, so does the high school sports season.
North Battleford Comprehensive High School
Football
The North Battleford Comprehensive High School Vikings football team has a 2-1 record heading into its game against Martensville.
In their last game, the Vikings defeated the Lloydminster Barons 12-6 at home.
A win over Martensville tonight would move the Vikings into second place in the 12-a-side North Saskatchewan League.
The Vikings have two regular-season games remaining, against Martensville and Saskatoon Marion Graham.
Cross country
The cross-country district championships were recently held at Table Mountain. The Vikings sent 26 runners to what cross-country coach Gary Ball described as one of the toughest courses he has ever seen.
Of the 26 runners, 13 came home with medals.

The Crusaders football team is coming off a dominant 75-0 road win over the Meadow Lake Spartans.
Next up for John Paul II is a game against Humboldt on Oct. 15.
The Crusaders lost their previous meeting with undefeated Humboldt 65-15.
Cross country
John Paul II also sent its cross-country team to the district championships at Table Mountain, where four runners won medals.

The Crusaders junior boys volleyball team extended its perfect season by winning gold in Unity.
Meanwhile, the junior girls placed fifth at their home tournament over the weekend.
The senior girls placed fourth in Moose Jaw, while the senior boys competed in Lloydminster.
