Battlefords RCMP arrested a young girl following a robbery.
On Sept. 8, around 2:40 p.m., RCMP received a report of a robbery in Battleford at Finlayson Island.
An investigation determined a suspect approached a victim, assaulted them and attempted to steal their vehicle. The victim reported non-life-threatening injuries to police, and their vehicle was damaged during the incident.
The suspect initially resisted officers but was arrested at the scene.
Charges are pending against the arrested individual, who is a young girl. RCMP are unable to provide details of the charges at this time, as the court information has not yet been sworn. Court appearance details are also pending.
The girl cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
