It’s that time of year again.
Property owners in North Battleford are beginning to receive their 2026 tax notices as the city reminds residents that payments are due by June 30 before late penalties begin to apply.
The City of North Battleford said its finance department mailed out all property tax notices earlier this week, with amounts reflecting the 2026 mill rates approved by council earlier this month.
Starting July 1, unpaid balances will be charged a late payment penalty of 1.8 per cent per month.
The city is also introducing a change this year for residents enrolled in the Tax Installment Payment Plan Service, commonly known as TIPPS.
Subscribers will now see their adjusted monthly payment amounts directly on their tax notice, replacing the city’s previous process of mailing separate letters outlining updated installment amounts for August through December.
Residents who are not enrolled in the program can still join at any time to make equal monthly payments toward their annual property taxes, the city said.
The city said several payment options are available, including online credit card payments, in-person payments at city hall, banking services, mail and the secure drop box at city hall. Credit card payments are subject to a three per cent processing fee.
Anyone who has questions about their tax notice or outstanding tax arrears is asked to contact the city’s tax clerk at 306-445-1700 or by email at taxes@cityofnb.ca.
