National Police Week is underway, and the Battlefords RCMP are marking the occasion with a community barbecue on Friday, May 15, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Everyone is invited to stop by the Battlefords RCMP Detachment parking lot at 1052 – 101st Street, North Battleford.
“National Police Week gives us a chance to come together with the community and acknowledge the commitment of our officers, who work every day to keep people safe,” says Staff Sgt. Bryce Pender of the Battlefords RCMP. “We hope you’ll join us for lunch, meet our members, and support a great local cause – our Citizens on Patrol program.”
Hamburgers and a drink will be sold for $5, with all proceeds donated to the Battlefords Citizens on Patrol program. The volunteer-led group supports local crime prevention by serving as additional eyes in the community, helping to discourage criminal activity.
